MAY 2010 NEWSLETTER

Spring has finally arrived and another term has started. Please ensure that you have paid your fees. Most days at playgroup are quite busy but several children have left the group on Tuesdays to start nursery. So, anyone who is interested in coming for an extra day Tuesday would be a good choice.

We are still struggling to find new committee members. We would like to remind you that most of our committee members will be stepping down at the end of this term. The playgroup can NOT CONTINUE without a committee. Anyone who is interested in joining and possibly taking on a post please speak to Catriona Steven (01334-880263) or Janet at playgroup. The AGM this year will be held on the 2^nd June in the Church Hall and will start at 8pm. Please come along!

Tesco vouchers are being collected at playgroup although we have not been sent a box. Please hand them in to Janet.

The main topic for this term will be the five senses. This will fit in nicely with our second trip to the Botanic Garden in St. Andrews. Trips will take place on Friday, 11^th June and Monday, 14^th June.  There will be two time slots available each day 9:30-11:30 and 12:30-2:30. Please sign up for a slot suitable for you and your child. The cost for the trip is £3. Children who normally attend playgroup on a Monday or Friday will have already paid the £3 as part of their fees.

We are currently organising a sponsored walk with the Lade Braes chase Preservation Trust. Walks are due to take place in the week beginning 24^th May. Details will follow.

We will continue to stay closed on In-Service days.

Last but still very important: The bins have changed in Strathkinness. If you are not familiar with the new system, please read the notices on the wall and bins. If you are still unsure which bin to use then ask Janet who already had to fish dirty nappies out of the wrong bins.

IMPORTANT

At the last committee meeting it was noticed that several members will be stepping down in the summer as their children will be moving on to nursery. It is vital that new members join the committee and would be willing to take on an active role after the summer.   The playgroup cannot exist without a committee!

Keep your eye on the Playgroup website and direct any friends to it if they have any queries or would like to add their child to the waiting list..

To all new and returning parents a reminder that the day they are on duty they need to arrive no later than 9:15 to help Janet with the set up. If you are unable to be there on your appointed day it is your responsibility to find a replacement/swap. Please feel free to lend a hand at any time, especially when a full tidy up is required.
